The Beijing project was extremely unique, not only for its grand scale, but for its locality. DLM Corp became a "true" global competetor in the habitat installation community when we entered the Asian market. This job was the catalyst to many other Asian installations.

In the mid 1997's the Bejing Aquarium requested a design/build proposal from the DLM Corp. After much negotiation, the fortune cookie arrived and gave us the green light.

The installation took 6 months of prefabrication and 1 year, 3 months on site. The tanks consisted of a shark tank, coral reef with tunnel and tunnel escalator anf the world's largest touch tank stretching 150 feet.

Additionally, we created 32 inserts for various tanks throughout the aquarium, and in April of 1999 the Beijing Aquarium opened its doors to the public and received rave reviews.
